National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

Today marks the first annual National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

As a business operating across several treaty territories we recognize the significance of this day to commemorate the tragic history and lasting effects of Canada’s residential school system, and to honour Indigenous survivors, their families and communities.

While Wireless Age stores will remain open to serve our customers, we are recognizing this day as an official holiday for staff for the purpose of awareness, education and reflection.

In that spirit The Wireless Age will be making a donation to the Orange Shirt Society, which raises awareness across Canada about the Indian Residential Schools and their continuing impacts on individuals, families and communities, and to promote the concept of "Every Child Matters"
